It’s not a terribly glamorous subject, and frankly one we are taught to avoid….its “Disgusting” and rife with “harmful germs”…..are ya pickin up what im layin down here?  Yeah, our “waste”, and the waste from our tables and month old refrigerator….and the cigarette butts, bottles and wrappers that are washed “away” with the next storm.  But where is away? And have you heard, “away” is catching up to us.  We gotta deal with it AND do it fast and intelligently.  You’ve no doubt heard the statistic of “ the majority of jobs that will be available to your kids haven’t been invented yet” ? well this is one of those imaginings….in existence and working to deal with our waste, put clean water back in our municipal systems and save the environment and us from ourselves. Yeah, I’m on a bit of a rant, but this project exemplifies the type of Action and RETHINKING of our ways that is imperative for our future.  Never mind the next billion dollar tax payer funded stadium, your regional Digester is where the money NEEDS to be spent…and yes, they should look great too!  Waste is going to be an essential commodity…..and with that I give you the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, with Digester Eggs!  ….really cool, really important!

The video:
…so, what is it and how does it work?
More video on Newtown Digesters…this is really impressive too…
