Money often leaves ones pockets….sometimes at an alarming rate! (not good) When you can keep money in your pocket….you have money. (this is good) When you can put MORE money in your pocket….you have more money. (this is very good!) So…what would you say to an investment tool that that boasts a risk free 50% return?!?!?! It’s a bit off the conventional “investment strategy” path…but it is definitely money in your pocket risk free….and not rocket science either….check it! http://www.pbs.org/newshour/businessdesk/2013/06/this-investment-fits-obamas-en.html

Hero Wednesday: 475 and PassiveHaus

Studio III architects’ Hero for this Wednesday:

Many have put their shoulder to the stone…so there are MANY unsung heroes in this concept of “Passive Haus” construction…or “Passive House” as we say in the US. If you can make it through the first 5 minutes you will be amazed by the next 15minutes…yeah its kinda long….but check it out as it is a heroic endeavor that could become our future!

Can the Building be the Hero?

Can the Building be the Hero?

It’s Hero Wednesday again:

Ok, this is a very cool building…can a building be a hero? Probably not…a valued component of a community or aspect of ones life…but a hero, perhaps not. So is the hero the developer with the idea of transforming the experience of a PARKING GARAGE in to a valued communal space of gathering, interest, experience and entertainment…with his plush roof top abode capping it all off!? That’s kinda hard to swallow too, but he did set the stage for things to happen. And then there are the Architects, Herzog and De Meuron who took the germ of an idea…a great idea…and made it happen. I still wish that the building could be the hero…
